Viriditas Apothecary
is a small scale medicinal, flower and vegetable farm located on the traditional and unceded territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) peoples.

Born of a desire to make medicinal plants and food more accessible, I farm using organic regenerative practices to promote resiliency and health of the soil, water and local flora and fauna. As an uninvited settler on these lands, I acknowledge the impact of historical and ongoing colonial violence and am committed to deepening my understanding of allyship and supporting indigenous self-determination.

My clinical herbal practice is rooted in a biomedical understanding of health that is woven with folk animism. I work with patients to discover the underlying causes of disbalance and to support physiological, emotional, mental and spiritual healing. I currently run a small by donation consultation practice and am working to set up a more formal sliding scale clinic space and herbal dispensary.

‘Viriditas’ is a latin term coined by abbess and mystic Hildegard von Bingen to describe the ‘greening power’ - healing force or verdant divinity innate to plants and the natural world. I make medicines in small batches from farm-grown herbs in hopes of connecting people to the benevolence and power of plants, and to encourage taking health back into our own hands. I work within the framework of planetary herbalism and spagyric alchemy to carry each plant’s unique essence into medicine.
