Hawthorne and The Heart Gates of Love and Grief Sept 15th

Join somatic herbalist and medicinal herb farmer Marae on a plant walk and immersive teaching on beloved Hawthorne.

We will be sharing a guided introduction to heart centred plant meditation in a haw grove, sampling various forms of the medicine, covering taxonomy, materia medica including physiological and energetic uses of the plant as a medicine for the heart and nervous system.

We will also discuss the importance of grief tending and practices to honour loss, transition, regeneration & love. Within this work will touch on individual grief as well as socioecological and ancestral grief. Marae will introduce other related plants in the rosaceae family to work with to support the tending of our grief and our love.

Participants will take home:
—A monograph of the plant
—A zine with traditional recipes to prepare at home
—A 15ml drop dose bottle or tea blend of hawthorne to work with after the workshop
—Tools to practise heart centred plant work on their own
